The Opportunity
We are looking for a Registered or Enrolled Nurse to join the team at STAR Palmerston North, in both our Older Adult Mental Health and Rehabilitation wings.
Hours of work are permanent part time, working rostered shifts, including nights.

STAR PN has a 28-bed rehabilitation wing for patients 16 years and over, although most patients are over 65 years old, and a 7-bed Older Adult Mental Health wing in Palmerston North Hospital. We are looking for nurses who preferably have a relevant qualification in the speciality of mental health nursing that includes postgraduate courses and/or willingness to participate in education designed to meet mental health nursing practice standards.
STAR is part of the MidCentral Healthy Ageing and Rehabilitation (HAR) Cluster based in Palmerston North and has links to the Community Elder Health Team. STAR PN cares for a multitude of health consumers including palliative and end of life.

Essential requirements include:
- A current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Meeting the requirements of the NZ Nursing Council to practice
- The ability to adapt easily in a changing environment
- The ability to be flexible and prioritise
- The ability to work effectively within a team
- Excellent communication and assessment skills
- The ability to function independently within the scope of practice
- A high degree of physical capacity
