About the Role
An opportunity exists to join the Regional Cancer Treatment Service at Te Whatu Ora Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral as a Radiation Oncology Booking Coordinator. This is a temporary, part-time position (a minimum of 0.8FTE) working Monday – Friday.
In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring the timely, smooth, and coordinated scheduling of patient care across the Radiation Oncology service. You'll be responsible for managing the flow of patients from First Specialist Appointment (FSA) through to treatment, while liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders. This is a role that requires exceptional coordination, communication, and multitasking skills—and is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment that directly impacts patient outcomes.

Our team delivers high-quality, patient-focused cancer care for a growing regional population that spans Masterton, Hawke's Bay, Palmerston North, Whanganui, and Taranaki. As a Radiation Oncology Booking Coordinator, you will bring:
- Proven experience in high-level scheduling, coordination, or administration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in patient management systems and Microsoft Office tools
- A solutions-focused, team-oriented attitude
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- A passion for ensuring patients have a smooth and supported journey through care
