About the Role

Are you a passionate and experienced midwife ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? This is a fantastic opportunity to join our maternity team at Palmerston North Hospital and play a key role in shaping safe, high-quality, whānau-centred care.  The Clinical Midwife Manager team cover the inpatient service 24/7 providing shift by shift coordination, midwifery leadership and operational management.  Working to support the Midwife Manager – Secondary, you will bring a senior midwifery voice to the multidisciplinary team, supporting the improvement of birth outcome and whānau experience.

You will be part of a dedicated and collaborative multidisciplinary maternity team within Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral. We are committed to providing whānau-centred care and fostering a culture of professionalism, integrity, and continuous improvement.

About you

You will bring:

  • NZ Registered Midwife status with a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Minimum of five years post-registration midwifery experience
  • Completed or working towards a Postgraduate Diploma
  • Quality Leadership Programme (QLP) portfolio
  • Be identified as a leader/emergin leader amongst your peers
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills
  • A commitment to cultural responsiveness and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
