Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora – Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral has a 0.75 FTE vacancy for a Registered Midwife at Kōhungahunga Maternity Unit. This is a four-bed primary birthing facility located within Horowhenua Health Centre in Levin, approximately 50 km south of Palmerston North.

The unit is sole charge, midwifery led and dedicated to labour and postnatal stays. Whilst working in partnership with their LMC, our Midwives provide postnatal care for women of our communities, plus provide intrapartum support to LMCs. We aspire to having a workforce reflective of the community we serve achieving equitable outcomes for all.

New Graduate Midwives who wish to work in Primary care are welcome to apply.  We would work together to develop an individualised plan to support you gain confidence to transition to sole charge once you have completed your first year of practice.
