About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly organised Cardiology Scheduler to join our Cardiology Interventional Service at Palmerston North Hospital.

In this role, you will provide effective and efficient management of booking systems for acute and elective cardiology procedures. This includes coordinating complex schedules, liaising closely with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring patients and whānau receive a responsive, customer‑focused service that meets national timeframes and quality standards.

You will utilise a range of digital patient management systems and work closely with nursing, medical, and administrative colleagues to support the smooth running of the cardiac cath lab and wider cardiology service.

About the Team/Service

The Cardiology Interventional Service is a dynamic, highly specialised service providing procedures such as coronary angiography, pacemaker implantation, cardioversions, advanced imaging, and emergency cardiac interventions. You will work alongside a dedicated team of cardiologists, nurses, technologists, and administration staff who are committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care.

About you

You will be a confident administrator who thrives in a fast‑paced healthcare environment and brings strong organisational and communication skills. You will also demonstrate a patient‑first mindset and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

You will ideally have:

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in documentation
  • Proven ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Problem‑solving skills and initiative in a busy environment
