Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Whanganui is seeking a passionate and skilled Dental / Oral Health Therapist to join our Community Oral Health team. This role is vital in improving oral health outcomes for tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau across our region.

About the Role

As a Dental / Oral Health Therapist, you will:

• Provide high-quality dental care and oral health education to patients and whānau
• Assess, plan, and deliver preventative and treatment services in line with professional standards
• Work collaboratively with schools, families, and community groups to promote oral health
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and participate in professional development

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

• Registered with the Dental Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate
• Holds a Bachelor of Oral Health, Diploma in Dental Therapy, or equivalent qualification
• Committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and culturally responsive care
• Skilled in clinical practice, with strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Able to work independently and as part of a supportive team

Essential:

• Current NZ driver's licence
• Competence in oral health therapy or dental therapy practice
• Computer literacy (MS Office, Titanium Dental system)

Desirable:

• Experience in community oral health settings
• Sensitivity to cultural issues and commitment to equity
