About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Imaging Technologist for a temporary part-time position within Medical Imaging, Palmerston North Hospital to cover a secondment from March 2026-March 2028. The position includes rotation through all shifts and provides coverage for General X-Ray, Theatre, ED, and Mobiles. Interventional Radiology and / or CT experience would be an asset. Site specific orientation will be provided as required.
You will be joining a team of around 60 MIT's: including MRI, CT, General, NM and Sonographers.
Some of your responsibilities
- Conducting all patient examinations to a high standard
- Maintaining accurate patient data and ensuring all administrative processes are complete including paperwork for all exams.
- Practicing procedures in an ethical and professional manner, ensuring health and safety regulations are met
- Providing supervision for MIT students (as required).

You will also have:
- NZ registration and a current annual practicing certificate
- Excellent interpersonal skills: communication, team effectiveness, and the ability to work collaboratively
- Excellent time management skills, including initiative and flexibility.
- IV-line insertion would be considered as asset.
