We are seeking a Hospital Aide to join our Children's Ward at Palmerston North Hospital. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a supportive healthcare environment and making a real difference for tamariki and their whānau.
About the role
As a Hospital Aide, you will support nursing and clinical staff by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming ward environment and assisting with a range of non-nursing duties. Your work will play an important role in ensuring high standards of care and comfort for patients and families.
Hours of work:
- 20 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday, 5.00pm – 10.00pm
Key responsibilities include
- Maintaining a high standard of environmental cleanliness in patient rooms, ward areas, and utility spaces
- Assisting with bed making, room preparation, and cleaning in line with infection prevention and control policies
- Supporting ward operations by checking equipment, reporting faults, and assisting with supplies
- Assisting with meal ordering and delivery
- Providing courteous, respectful customer service to patients, families, and visitors
- Supporting parents and caregivers as appropriate
- Contributing to a safe, uncluttered, and well-organised ward environment
- Working collaboratively with nursing, clinical, and support staff
