About the Role

As the ED Administration Coordinator, you will lead and coordinate the day-to-day administrative operations of a fast-paced Emergency Department. Acting as the central hub for administrative activity, you will support patient flow, guide a team of administration staff, and work closely with clinical and operational leaders to ensure seamless service delivery.

This is a dynamic leadership role where no two days are the same—perfect for someone who thrives under pressure and enjoys making a tangible impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate front-of-house reception, patient registration, and ED workflows
  • Support efficient patient flow through accurate tracking and communication
  • Lead, coach, and support a team of administration staff
  • Monitor workloads and assist with resource allocation across shifts
  • Maintain high standards of data accuracy and administrative quality
  • Collaborate with clinical teams and stakeholders across the hospital

Contribute to service improvement initiatives and process optimisation

About you

You are a confident and capable coordinator who brings:

Essential:

  • Experience in healthcare administration
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment (ED experience advantageous)
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of patient management systems
  • Commitment to equity and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice

You'll also be someone who:

  • Demonstrates initiative, leadership, and attention to detail
