Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.
About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our Oncology Inpatient Ward (Ward 23). Two part-time positions are available; 0.9FTE (temporary) and 0.6FTE (permanent), working rostered rotating shifts, including night shifts and weekends.
We invite you to join our Cancer Nursing team.

As a nurse in Ward 23, you will have the opportunity to support patients during a challenging period in their lives, making a significant impact on their experience. You will develop specialised oncology skills and have the chance to advance to senior clinical and leadership positions, such as nurse specialists. While working in oncology can be daunting, the human aspect of cancer care makes it deeply meaningful. We are dedicated to providing support and ongoing professional development.
Additionally, you will work in a hospital committed to improving Māori health outcomes, with opportunities to join our Kaimahi Māori team and expand your knowledge of Māori health, tikanga, and te reo. We are committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and promote equity, diversity, and inclusion. We value and respect the diversity and spiritual needs of our colleagues, ensuring a safe, whānau-oriented workplace within a supportive environment.
You will be expected to have, or work towards CVAD certification and chemotherapy administration competence within the first six months of employment – full support will be given to achieve this.
