Logistics Coordinator – Theatre Department | Whanganui Hospital

Permanent - Full time : Salary:  $76,705 - $84,754

You will play a key role in ensuring the Operating Theatre has the specialist equipment and supplies needed to deliver safe, timely, high‑quality care for patients.

About the Role

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a busy, detail‑focused environment. You will coordinate the ordering, tracking, and storage of specialist surgical equipment, maintain accurate inventory records, manage loan equipment, and ensure all items are safely organised and ready for use.
If you are highly organised, proactive, and confident managing multiple moving parts, this position will suit you well.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Working within our Theatre Services team means joining a supportive, friendly group of clinicians and administrators who work together to deliver excellent surgical care for our community.

About you

You will be able to comfortably demonstrate:

• Strong organisation and planning skills, with excellent attention to detail
• Confident computer literacy, particularly Teams, MS Excel, Word, Outlook and supply ordering systems
• Inventory management and supply understanding
• Effective communication and relationship‑building skills
• The ability to prioritise, problem‑solve, and work collaboratively across clinical and non‑clinical teams
• A commitment to culturally safe practice and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
