About the role | Mō te tūnga

As a Probation Officer in Levin, you'll work closely with offenders to make sure they're meeting the conditions of their sentence or order. You'll assess people and their situations to manage risk, set and maintain boundaries and motivate offenders to make positive changes.

You must work with high integrity and will demonstrate the Departmental and Kaupapa Māori values within your work: Wairua, Whānau, Manaaki, Kaitiaki and Rangatira.

You'll be someone who relates to people from all different backgrounds and cultures - you'll need resilience, common sense and maturity. You will also have a positive attitude and be motivated to make a difference. You will also be a strong administrator, who is highly organised and who can meet deadlines.

About you | Mōu

To be successful in this role you will need to be;

• A strong communicator
• Computer literate and have strong written skills
• Full clean New Zealand Driver Licence
• Legal right to work in New Zealand without restriction for a minimum of 24 months
• Relevant skills and experience working with a diverse group of people
• A passion for helping others and being a positive role model
