Mō te tūnga | About the role
Join a dynamic team of psychologists across the Auckland region, where you'll have the opportunity to make a profound impact. As a psychologist within the Auckland District, you'll play a pivotal role in engaging with diverse populations, facilitating positive changes in individuals' lives, and contributing to community safety.
In our psychologist offices throughout Auckland, you'll collaborate within Community Corrections and Prison staff, conducting individual psychology assessments and treatments within a supportive team environment. Whether stationed in central Auckland, Manukau, or Correctional Facilities, you'll engage daily with individuals at high risk of reoffending, utilising a range of interventions tailored to their unique needs. The work involves providing services to men or women in dedicated psychological services across prison and community settings.
Alternatively, you can explore opportunities within Special Treatment Units across Auckland (working with men or women), focusing on reducing reoffending rates in a therapeutic community. Here, you'll conduct clinical assessments, lead group treatments, provide supervision, and contribute to various service initiatives, all within a tikanga Māori framework. Depending on your preference, you can work with a diverse range of clients across the Auckland region.
Regardless of your chosen path, you'll benefit from a vibrant, supportive team culture, continuous professional development opportunities, and a competitive salary. These roles offer more than just employment—they offer a chance to be part of transformative change, shaping the future of rehabilitation services in correctional psychology in Auckland.
