Mō te tūnga | About the role
Our Organisational Resilience & Safety group is now recruiting for a regionally based Staff Welfare Coordinator on a secondment/fixed-term basis for 12 months to cover parental leave. This is a unique opportunity to proactively achieve our organisations mission, acting as a support and coordination person to the Regional Leadership Teams across all business functions, providing them with assurance and confidence that all staff facing challenges to their individual wellbeing have access to appropriate welfare services.
You will be motivated by the opportunity to provide guidance and coordinate referrals to ensure affected employees across the Department have access to appropriate assistance and support. Our Staff Welfare Coordinators also play a proactive role in delivering regular health promotion and wellbeing training days for people.
Experience in delivery of Critical Incident Response support and in-depth understanding of psychological first aid principles is a must in this role.

We will be looking for clear evidence and examples of how you meet the following key requirements within your cover letter and CV:
- Strong experience in the safe delivery of staff wellbeing coordination services
- Demonstrated experience facilitating health promotion programmes and workshops to a variety of audiences
- Experience in building leadership capability and proven relationship management skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate complex issues to a range of stakeholders and audiences
- Sound understanding of the Privacy Act and relevant legislation relating to Health and Safety in the workplace
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated skills in operating with integrity
- Proven problem solving and conflict resolution experience
- The ability to model a strong commitment to wellness, frequently highlighting and recognising good practice and to establish, continue and promote a culture of safe behaviours within the Department
- The ability to be self-motivated and show a high level of self-management; and
- Strong reporting skills (using Excel, Risk Manager and Word).
A current full NZ driver's licence and the ability to travel regularly is also required for this role.
Utu ā-tau | Salary
The salary range for this role is $92,828 - $99,753 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
