Senior Business Analyst at Crown Response Office, Wellington - Wairarapa
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
The Crown Response Office was established in September 2024 to coordinate and facilitate cross-government decision making and implement the Crown's response to the Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry. The Office sits within the Public Service Commission. The creation of the Office within a central Government agency was a key recommendation in the Royal Commission's final report, Whanaketia – through pain and trauma, from darkness to light.
The Crown Response Office plays an important strategic, advisory and coordination role to ensure the Crown is joined up and focused on the right priorities.
We're looking for a dynamic, flexible Senior Business Analyst on a secondment or fixed term basis to 30 June 2027 to work across a range of projects.
You'll be contributing to projects that aim to improve care system leadership, enable a safe and capable workforce, enhance recordkeeping and access to records, and support the development of a cross-agency plan to ensure the Crown is giving effect to te Tiriti o Waitangi.
What you'll be doing
-
Lead business analysis and service design across multiple complex projects.
-
Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and documentation.
-
Create process maps, workflows, and diagrams that simplify complex information for governance groups and senior stakeholders.
-
Facilitate workshops and co-design sessions with diverse stakeholders – from policy teams to frontline staff.
-
Provide evidence-based analysis to support planning, prioritisation, and delivery.
-
Collaborate across social care agencies to ensure alignment and consistency in design and delivery.
What we're looking for
-
A confident communicator who is open, approachable, and able to build strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
-
Proven experience as a Business Analyst in complex environments, ideally within social care or public sector settings.
-
Someone known for making complexity simple — through clear documentation, visual tools, and practical analysis.
-
Experience working at the interface between policy and delivery teams is desirable.
