Massey University Library is looking for a subject librarian to help support the teaching, learning, and research activities of students and academic staff

Would you like to work on an attractive, spacious, and growing campus on Auckland's North Shore? Massey University Library is looking for a permanent, full-time subject librarian to help support the teaching, learning, and research activities of students and academic staff in growing areas within the Colleges of Sciences and Health such as the built environment and public health.

Key responsibilities include liaising with academics and postgraduates; teaching face-to-face and online workshops, creating digital content to enhance the Library's online presence in college programmes, and providing specialist support for their research activities such as impact reporting and scholarly profiles. We offer a stimulating and supportive environment, working with colleagues across our three campus libraries.

The successful candidate will be:

  • passionate about making a difference in higher education
  • proactive in their approach to customer service
  • well-developed in communication, outreach and relationship-building skills
  • interested in educational technologies and the opportunities they offer
  • experienced in teaching in a tertiary or library setting, especially information
  • literacy, including skills in creating teaching plans, learning outcomes, etc
  • interested or experienced in research support, including advising on scholarly profiles and impact reporting.

You'll also need a professional library qualification or be working towards one.
