Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you'll bring to the role:
You will:
- Guide Fire and Emergency's work with Māori (tangata whenua) in your region.
- Develop culturally appropriate fire safety strategies for Māori communities.
- Foster and manage strong relationships with iwi, hapū, whānau, and other Māori stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice on incorporating tikanga Māori into fire safety initiatives.
You are a proven leader with:
- Deep expertise in tikanga Māori and cultural protocols.
- Experience working collaboratively with Māori communities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
- Fluency in te reo Māori (or actively seeking fluency).
