Ko te tūranga - the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Investigator to join our team. This is an important front-line role for the Commissioner. You will be investigating complaints from individuals who allege an agency has interfered with their privacy. You will also assist in taking enquiries from the public about their privacy rights and from agencies about their privacy obligations, providing sound advice in a manner that is independent and neutral.
You will notify, investigate, resolve, and manage your own complaint file load, with ongoing mentoring and support from senior staff in the team.
The nature of the work means there will be occasions where you will be responding to challenging issues, so resilience, strong communication (written & oral) and relationship skills are key to thriving in this role.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with some early-stage work experience, or someone with relevant work experience looking to take the next step in their career.
Base salary band indication: $68,000 - $92,000 with actual pay dependent on relevant experience.
