Senior Analyst Reporting - Fixed Term - Wellington at Fire and Emergency New Zealand, Wellington - Wairarapa

Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role

We're looking for a Senior Analyst – Reporting to deliver high-quality workforce insights that support critical decision-making across our organisation.

This is an opportunity to work with complex data, influence senior stakeholders, and help shape how people data is used at a national level.

You'll play a key role in transforming People (HR and Payroll) data into meaningful insights. Working across multiple systems and stakeholders, you will:

  • Deliver insight-led reporting and dashboards to support strategic decisions
  • Analyse and translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Provide ad hoc and deep-dive analysis for business initiatives
  • Support reporting to senior leaders, ELT and Board-level audiences
  • Lead improvements to HR reporting systems, processes, and data quality
  • Work closely with IT, Payroll, and analytics teams to ensure data integrity

 

This is a fixed term or secondment position until 18 December 2026. This position is based out of our NHQ office in Wellington, however for the right candidate, we would be open to some flexibility.

 

Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you'll bring to the role:

Hit the ground running in this fixed term position with your proven experience working with complex data with a background or strong understanding of people data (HR and Payroll). Your ability to listen and ask the right questions to understand the bigger picture will be key to your success in this position.

 

To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will have:

  • 5+ years' experience working with complex data (e.g. HRIS, Payroll, or similar systems)
  • Advanced SQL and Excel skills
  • Strong experience with Power BI (or similar reporting tools)
  • Proven ability to present insights clearly to a range of audiences
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Sound understanding of relevant legislation (Privacy, Holidays, Employment Relations)
  • High level of discretion and professionalism with sensitive data

 

The salary range for this role is $114,663 - $127,404 (pro rata), dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
