  • Permanent 0.7FTE vacancy (28 hours per week)

Are you looking for a new challenge? Southern District Health Board has an exciting opportunity for you to make your mark. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Enrolled Nurse or Renal endorsed Clinical Physiologist to join our friendly team on a permanent part-time basis.

About the team

The Dialysis service is committed to, and provides for home based dialysis therapy from Waitaki to the Bluff and Central Otago.

About the role - what's in it for me?

In support of this commitment, the Dialysis Unit is looking for an Enrolled Nurse, or Clinical Physiologist, who will work under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse (in a rostered and rotating capacity, inclusive of weekends as required), to provide the full home based haemodialysis therapy, to visit dialysis patients in their homes and to support them in managing their dialysis as and where required.

A comprehensive orientation and supportive training programme will also be provided.

About you

You must have the ability to work in a high output area, be a flexible and adaptable team player and able to use your initiative with ease.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also paramount for this role. As a member of a multidisciplinary team the role requires the ability to contribute to the ongoing teaching / education of patients and their families. You will be able to demonstrate experience in quality processes and will have a commitment to best practice.

To succeed in this role you will need to have the following:

  • A current Annual Practicing Certificate with the right to work in New Zealand
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
  • A full clean driver's licence, and a reliable vehicle!
