Dunedin Hospital

  • New casual role - on as and when needed basis
  • Supporting women in our community at an exciting time

About the role - what's in it for me?

Queen Mary Maternity has created a community outreach service to provide care for women who have been unsuccessful in finding an LMC. The service is provided Monday through to Sunday 8.00-16.30 pm. You will be joining a team of midwives who provide hospital and community based services to pregnant and post- partum women from the greater Dunedin area. Referrals come from inpatient areas, private providers and primary care. We have a women-centered approach to our care and you will be making a real difference to the patient experience. This outreach midwife role would suit a Midwife who knows how to work as part of a team and who enjoys getting involved in a variety of tasks to ensure we can provide the very best care is provided at all times.

About you

To be considered for this role you will need to:

  • be a Registered Midwife
  • hold a current annual practicing certificate
  • have excellent communication and the ability to easily build rapport with people from all walks of life
  • be passionate about midwifery and have a real desire to provide the best care possible.

If you think you'd like working in a team where integrity, honesty and a great sense of humour count, we'd love to hear from you!
