Job Description

Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a Crown Entity established on 1 July 2017 under the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017. The role of our new organisation is to reduce unwanted fires, respond to structural and vegetation fires and other emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous substance related incidents, natural disasters and support increased community resilience.

Our new, unified organisation provides a fire and emergency service that delivers for communities, and the firefighters who serve them, now and in the future.

The IMU contribute to Fire and Emergency New Zealand's comprehensive injury and illness rehabilitation service.

Under the guidance of the Technical Payments Officer, the Entitlements Payment Supports key tasks include the following:

  • Processing all non-work injury claims with ACC
  • Calculating and paying weekly compensation entitlements
  • Coordinating reimbursements from ACC
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting to Finance
  • Providing business support assistance

This role provides essential administration support to the IMU team so our ideal applicant will have the following:

  • Well-developed numeracy and data entry skills
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Experience and/or working knowledge of ACC procedures and claims management
  • Experience in a similar position or in finance administration

The remuneration range for this position is $54,956 - $61,063.
