We currently have an exciting opportunity for an additional Region Property Coordinator to join our busy Regional team.

Dependant on the successful candidate, the role may be based within the Bay of Plenty or Waikato regions, however the preference is for the role to be based from our Regional Headquarters in Tauranga.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a Crown Entity established on 1 July 2017 under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 2017. The role of our new organisation is to reduce unwanted fires, respond to structural and vegetation fires and other emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous substance related incidents, natural disasters and support increased community resilience.

Our new, unified organisation provides a fire and emergency service that delivers for communities, and the Fire-Fighters who serve them, now and in the future.

Reporting to the National Property Manager this position will cover the areas within the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes and Gisborne regions.

You will be responsible for management of the maintenance of Fire and Emergency leased and owned properties within those areas. You will also be accountable for liaising with external providers and contractors to ensure the effective scheduling and oversight of planned, programmed and emergency maintenance of Fire and Emergency sites.

Along with your above average computer literacy, excellent written and oral communication skills and your attention to detail, the ideal candidate will also have:

  • an extensive background from within the construction industry
  • proven expertise in Facilities and Property Management experience
  • a well-developed knowledge of building materials, building code, standards and legislation
  • proven experience working with contractors and managing construction contracts
  • the ability to work autonomously to meet the needs of your clients
  • the ability to maintain consistent standards with a nationally dispersed team
  • the ability to collaborate and build positive working relationships with a wide range of people
  • exceptional time management, engagement and project planning skills.

We will provide you with a unique opportunity to utilise your maintenance and contract management experience in a key emergency service environment, where your relationship building skills and technical competency will be highly valued. Travel is required.
