About us

Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga is the national agency for place-based heritage in Aotearoa. We celebrate, care for, and assist communities to recognise and protect these places for the benefit of future generations.

We are seeking:

1 x Fixed Term staff for our upcoming busy 2025-2026 Summer season at The Stone Store in Kerikeri.

This fixed term role is part time – rostered for 16.5 hours per week (including one weekend day) with the possibility of extra hours where required. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to be part of a dynamic bi-cultural team that is committed to telling our national and Northland stories, reflecting on our unique place in Aotearoa. It is also a great way to enter the tourism business and gain experience at one of Northland's busiest tourist destinations. 

We are seeking committed and motivated team players who will enhance our front of house duties, with their high energy, while keeping the site well maintained. 

This role requires you to:

• welcome and engage with all visitors to the site
• deliver guided tours to groups of visitors, including school groups
• participate in the day-to-day retail and customer service operations of the Stone Store, including merchandise display and restocking
• use our computer-based Point of Sale system
• Promote Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga and its properties.

About you:

Your knowledge and experience that will see you succeed in this role:

-displaying initiative and excellent customer service.

The hourly rate for this position is $28.95 per hour.
