Criminal Justice Support Unit - Multi Agency Centre

New Zealand Police

Counties Manukau

Permanent, Full Time

Salary Range $71,357.00 - $96,542.00

The position of File Manager of the CJSU at the Multi Agency Centre (MAC) is a busy and challenging role, the position holder being responsible for managing and preparing criminal investigations for the Districts Child Protection and Adult Sexual Assault Teams.

  • Satisfactory VCA - Core Children's Worker safety vetting check
  • Members of the CJSU (MAC) are required to undergo 3 monthly well-checks with a psychologist
  • The member must reside in the Auckland area.
  • Previous exposure or work in the CIB is preferable but not essential.
  • New Zealand citizen

 

Special requirements

CJSU (MAC) file managers and supervisors deal almost exclusively with complex Child Protection and Adult Sexual Assault files for the District investigators based at the MAC. These files contain sensitive, sometimes disturbing, material. Applicants will need to demonstrate ability or an understanding in the following areas:

  • CP and ASA national policy and procedure
  • Evidence regulations relating to specialist interviews and alternative modes of evidence
  • Preparation of reports/files for PPS and the Crown Solicitor, including disclosure requirements
  • Preparation of victim/offender synopsis and/or transcripts
  • Offer advice and/or feedback to investigators and specialist interviewers in formal and informal setting
