Permanent, Full-time

Salary Range $78,594.00 - $106,332.00

Evidence Based Policing is about using information, crime science and problem-solving methods to ensure that proven approaches and tactics inform our choices and provide confidence that what we do works. Evidence-Based Policing presents an opportunity for New Zealand Police to embed an evidence base into all of our operations. This is a great opportunity to join a new team and to contribute to the formation of the newly created Evidence Based Policing Service Centre (EBPC).

The EBPC itself is made up of a number of specialised teams (Including Delivery & Improvements, and Implementation & Evaluation) that together will contribute to a multi-disciplinary and integrated approach to the delivery of high quality and innovative work. As the Insights Analyst your role will be contribute to the development of organisational performance and evidence based interventions by undertaking statistical analysis and reporting of quantitative data, providing both the EBPC and wider Police with robust information.

The ideal candidate will be required to work collaboratively with other EBPC teams and key internal and external stakeholders. Importantly, the Insights Analyst will work closely with others to assist in identifying the data requirements of EBPC projects and designing the appropriate methods of extracting this data.


Skills knowledge & Experience

  • Knowledge of SAS and its component parts
  • Sound written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience interpreting data from an operational environment would be an advantage
