Digital Forensics Analyst

Wellington

Permanent, Full Time

Salary Range $89,615.00 - $116,123.00

New Zealand Police is seeking to appoint an experienced Digital Forensics Analyst to be part of the exciting and dynamic work undertaken by the Digital Forensic Unit (DFU), based in Wellington.

With our operational colleagues and partners we deliver world leading digital forensic analysis. We are looking for people that have technical expertise but most importantly share our vision for innovation, partnerships and being part of a positive work environment.

 

To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following technical requirements

  • Experience in digital forensic analysis and investigations.
  • Broad range of knowledge and experience relating to computer hardware, software and network technologies.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work and collaborate positively in a team environment.
  • The ability to balance conflicting priorities in order to manage workflow, ensure the completion of essential tasks, and meet critical deadlines.

 

The successful candidate for this role will

  • Be advantaged if the applicant was proficient with Guidance Software, X-Ways Software Technology AG, MSAB, and Cellebrite Digital Forensic Software suites, however other qualifications relating to technology will be considered.
  • Be self-motivated and have excellent organisational, research, and communication skills.
  • Pay attention to detail and have the flexibility to cope with change.
  • Have the ability to rapidly absorb, understand and apply new concepts and technologies.
  • Be capable of making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Work well in team environments.

Certification Requirements

  • Must obtain Certified Forensic Computer Examiner Qualification
  • Must maintain Authorised Officer status

 

Special requirements

  • Hold a BSc in computing or related field and digital forensic certifications
  • Proficiency testing will be conducted as part of the selection process
  • The successful applicant to this position will be required to undergo a full reference and security check prior to any offer of employment being made and must either have or obtain a Government security clearance to Secret level before the position is confirmed. This requirement means you must have citizenship/permanent residency in one of the following countries for the last ten consecutive years: New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, or United States of America.
