Wellington

Fixed Term, Up to 3 Years

Salary Range $64,813.00 - $87,693.00

We are looking for a Project Coordinator to join our team and support our Project Managers. This means that you will be organised, prioritise, and keep on track of multiple streams of work at a time. We need someone who is able to work in a busy fast paced environment and is flexible, as the needs of the role will change as the program progresses. This is a fixed term position, for a period of up to 36 months, concluding March 2022 at the latest.

 

About the APEC21 Security Programme:

The APEC21 Programme is an all-of-government programme which is responsible for all aspects of the preparation for New Zealand to host a safe and secure APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) in 2021.  NZ Police lead the APEC21 Security Programme. 

 

APEC21 will be the largest event ever hosted by the New Zealand Government, with 18,000-22,000 participants (including Leaders, Ministers, officials, media, business people and youth) expected during the year.  Around 12 blocks of significant meetings are held during the year, culminating in Leaders Week in Auckland, 8-14 November 2021, to which the leaders of all 21 APEC economies are invited.

 

Skills

  • Excellent diary management and people coordination
  • Be responsible for writing agendas and keeping 'Work in Progress' documents up to date and supporting report requirements
  • Ability to juggle multiple demands on your time
  • Set up workshops from conception to conclusion
  • Calm under pressure and ORGANISED

 

Experience

  • Have provided coordination and support on a major project or time sensitive event
  • Government or law enforcement background would be a benefit.
  • Provide some general administration support including booking travel
  • Experience in project scheduling and familiarity with project methodology and governance is a benefit but not a must.

Special Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance.
