  • Permanent, full-time opportunity (40 hours per week)

About the department

We consider ourselves to be very fortunate here at the Queen Mary Maternity Unit. Not only do we get to care for fabulous women and their families from all across our diverse region, we also get to work alongside kind, compassionate, dedicated midwives and other health professionals to provide a safe and positive birthing experience.

Each year we birth around 1,800 babies and work closely with the midwifery and medical schools to give the kind of care our patients deserve.

About the role - what's in it for me?

This is a dynamic role where you will need to be able to effectively multi-task whilst keeping a smile on your face and a spring in your step!

As Administration Officer, your role will include (but is not limited to):

  • Providing high quality administrative support to the maternity service
  • Setting up and maintaining effective electronic and paper filing systems and procedures
  • Continuous improvements to processes and procedures to enhance the administration service provided
  • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships across the team
  • Providing excellent customer service

The service runs between 8am-8.30 pm Monday to Friday and 8am-4.30pm on weekends so you will need to be flexible to cover shifts within these times.

About you

Ideally you will bring the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a busy administration role
  • Competent and confident using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent word processing and data entry skills with a strong eye for detail
  • Flexible approach with the ability to successfully prioritise your workload
  • Respectful nature handling confidential, often sensitive information in a professional manner
  • Excellent communication with a natural flair for fostering positive relationships

Please note the salary for this position will be $46,894 - $48,740 per annum (pro rata) as per the PSA MECA S3 scale, and will be based on relevant experience.
