Job Description

New Learning and Development Advisor Opportunity

  • Be part of a newly established team
  • Support the organisation through a positive change process
  • Opportunity to make a difference

Safe and Secure Skies – to help New Zealand fly. The work of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is important, it not only protects life; it enables travel, recreation and commerce. It supports and enables a vibrant NZ aviation system, provides public confidence, and protects the reputation of New Zealand. The aviation environment is constantly evolving and this new and exciting learning and development opportunity will provide support in building the capability within the regulatory workforce, to meet the organisations future aspirations. Capability development is an organisational key priority, the investment and backing is there from the top. In this role you will assist in the CAA's desired outcome of being a world-class regulator delivery to the highest standard.

About the Organisation

The Authority is a Crown entity, responsible for the safety and security of New Zealand's civil aviation system. The Authority has two business arms – the security arm (the Aviation Security Service) which provides aviation security services at airports across New Zealand and the regulatory arm, which is responsible for the safety oversight of the civil aviation system.

This role will see you developing learning resources (using a variety of media), systems and tools to support the effective acquisition of knowledge, and ensuring on-the-job application is achieved. The responsibilities may change over time as CAA responds to a changing environment.

You will have a tertiary qualification in instructional design and/or equivalent relevant experience (minimum 2 years at an advisory level). It's ideal, but not essential if you come from a modern regulatory environment or another technical organisation. You will be action oriented and an excellent communicator with a proven track record of focusing on the customer.

It is an exciting time to join CAA and be part of this continuous improvement journey, and this role provides you with an opportunity to be a key factor in that process.
