Senior Business Analyst

 

We are one of the largest government agencies with one of the largest ‘in house' Information Technology Groups in the country. The IT Applications group is involved in the delivery of large scale capital projects and is also responsible for the operational maintenance and enhancement of the Ministry's IT applications.

 

We are currently looking to add to our great team of Business Analysts across the tier.

 

It is an exciting time to be working with us as we are currently going through significant transformations, with changes in our service delivery models, the introduction of a shared services platform and a strong move into the digital arena. This provides for an exciting and challenging work environment, and the opportunity for you to provide thought leadership in business analysis.

 

As a Senior Business Analyst your key responsibilities will be:

 

  • To work closely with the business, Product Owners and IT stakeholders
  • Confidently leading pieces of work by stepping up as the SCRUM Master/Delivery Lead where necessary
  • Elicit requirements and user stories
  • Facilitate requirement workshops
  • Participate in planning sessions
  • To ensure requirements are understood and IT are able to deliver quality and fit for purpose solutions
  • To provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to other Business Analysts in the team.
  • Managing requirements and user stories
  • Producing and updating system documentation where required
  • Stakeholder communication and delivery.
  • Work as part of an Agile team and assist with building the culture
  • Be willing to step into assist with testing and other tasks that maybe required in order to deliver the common goal.
  • Effectively build relationships and work closely with business units across the IT department and the wider organisation.
