A central role supporting governance across the Ministry

We are looking for an exceptional principal level specialist to join our high performing team.  This role is the secretariat support and advice to the governance groups of the Ministry. You will work across the organisation to oversee and advise in the forward planning of the agendas – meaning you'll need perspective, conceptual and analytical savvy in anticipating strategy, potential issues and challenges balanced against the work programme and identifying interdependencies, synergies, roadblocks and opportunities – to ensure the agenda is focussed on the right areas.   You will influence to frame up agendas, opportunities and challenges appropriately so that MfE can succeed. 

Your role is important in ensuring we plan, anticipate, evaluate and monitor progress and deliver against our organisational goals and longer term outcomes. It also has a clear focus on organisational performance and reporting.  You will also take a lead role in providing advice and recommendations to ensure effective operation of these groups.  You will also be responsible for ensuring the  correct papers are received and reviewed by the appropriate governance bodies in a timely manner, so you'll have a high comfort level of working the in the machinery of government.

It will be important that you build great relationships internally and externally and help others to do the same.

  • Proven ability to work across teams to translate vision into action
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to write for a range of audiences.
