The Ministry for the Environmentare looking for a Principal Analyst to play a key thought leadership role in a cross-cutting workstream the Ministry is leading on the future of the resource management and planning system.   The world we operate in is changing.  As our economy continues to grow and evolve, new ways of thinking are needed to provide for the needs of current and future generations.  We have major challenges ahead of us, such as affordable housing, effective and resilient infrastructure, water policy and land use, that require a responsive policy framework, and innovative, multi-faceted approaches that balance the often conflicting views of all stakeholders.

The Ministry for the Environment provides intelligent and innovative policy advice that guides the government to make decisions that ensure New Zealand's natural and built resources are managed well to deliver economic performance and wider prosperity now and into the future.  As a Principal Analyst you'll play a key role in shaping the way New Zealand manages its natural and built resources, and their contribution to the country's economic growth and overall wellbeing.

You'll provide comprehensive, innovative, high quality advice, and help to build capability within the Ministry by providing the leadership that will coach and mentor others.  You will use your excellent judgement and relationship management skills to influence stakeholders to achieve the Ministry's outcomes.
