About the Ministry of Social Development

 
The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is one of the lead agencies for the social sector.  We help the Government to set priorities across the sector, co-ordinate the actions of other social sector agencies and track changes in the social wellbeing of New Zealanders. 

 
About Community, Partnerships and Programmes

 
Community, Partnerships and Programmes (CPP) is responsible for strategic partnerships; community, employment and population based programmes and the service management of contracted services including family and sexual violence.  This group is about connecting and collaborating to build effective partnerships that achieve better outcomes for those individuals, whānau and communities who most need our support.

 
About the Programme Manager Role

 
The Programme Manager within the Safe Strong Families and Communities group is responsible for leading and managing key projects and programmes. The role holder will initiate and deliver a range of projects and programmes that have been allocated to the Community Partnerships and Programmes group and will work closely with the Head of Project Delivery.  The Programme Manager may be responsible for managing multiple projects and/or programmes in parallel.  The initial focus will be on the successful delivery of the family violence, sexual violence and building financial capability work programmes.

 
About your Skills and Experience

 
To be successful in either role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience leading programmes and projects within business and technology change environments
  • Ability to plan, monitor and control programmes and projects, including risk management
  • Good knowledge of the Service Delivery business and the technology applications used to support it
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams made up of internal and external resources
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing
  • Ability to successfully implement change within Service Delivery to realise the identified benefits
  • Innovative problem solving capability
  • Travelling will be required in this role
