Oranga Tamariki is a new Ministry dedicated to supporting any child in New Zealand whose wellbeing is at significant risk of harm now, or in the future. We also work with young people who may have offended, or are likely to offend. About the role:

The Stakeholder Engagement Manager leads the delivery of strategic and coordinated engagement. They'll lead a small but handpicked team who provide the systems and supports to ensure Oranga Tamariki is able to engage with all stakeholders efficiently.  With others they'll build trust and confidence in the Ministry and its work.  They will be able to build systems which facilitate effective two-way conversations and identify and implement metrics to measure performance in these areas, reviewing as the environment changes. The role can be based in Wellington or Auckland.

 

Skills and experience: 

You'll be an expert in assisting others to grow and maintain key stakeholder relationships, and you'll have proven expertise in the planning and delivery of meaningful two way engagement, that's coordinated and strategic. You will be a skilled engagement strategist who understands the value in being open and direct with communities. Of course, you will easily anticipate and respond to change. You'll be kind, understand what it means to be child-centred, and have experience leading an active team.
