Programme Advisor

The Service Delivery Portfolio Management Office (SDPMO) is looking for a permanent experienced Programme Advisor to join their team. The Programme Advisor will play a critical role in the SDPMO providing quality assurance and advisory services to Service Delivery's portfolios, programmes and projects including:

  • Assessing the health of programmes / projects
  • Managing quality control for all key programme / project artefacts
  • Providing oversight of portfolio and programme dependencies
  • Providing programme and project advice to programme / project managers and coordinators

The successful candidate will have:

  • Programme / project management methodology knowledge (essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to see the ‘big picture' and understand the strategic context of projects
  • Proven decision-making experience and project leadership
  • Previous experience working in a PMO environment
  • The ability to use Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint Visio and Project
  • The ability to build relationships and deliver results in a dynamic and busy environment

Ideally the successful candidate will have:

  •  Experience in working within a large government department

The Service Delivery PMO actively supports project / programme managers and their teams to deliver successful programmes and projects and works with project owners and managers to provide best practice advice, guidance and support.

The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is the lead agency for the social sector. We help the Government to set priorities across the sector, co-ordinate the actions of other social sector agencies and track changes in the social wellbeing of New Zealanders.

Salary range is $50k to $80k depending on skills and experience.
