About the role:

We have a fixed term opportunity until June 2019 as a Children's Team Coordinator.


The Children's Team Counties Manukau Oranga Tamariki represents a unique opportunity to work with others and make a significant difference to the lives of children. 


As Coordinator in this team you will be facilitator for the seamless operation of the Children's Team service in accordance with CT service guidelines. You'll coordinate the Children's Team meetings, making sure that all administrative and logistical arrangements are timely and collaborate with the other colleagues including the Team Administrator to ensure that best practice is shared and overload situations can be managed efficiently.


Skills and experience:

To be successful in your application, you should have:

  • Knowledge and/or experience of child welfare or family contact work, local services and personnel, and how key agencies work with children and families in the social/health/education and justice sectors
  • A track record in delivering coordination and facilitation services to a high quality
  • Strong interpersonal skills be able to build effective relationships at all levels both within the Ministry and with external stakeholders
  • An advanced level of technical proficiency in the Microsoft office suite of applications, specifically Word, Excel and Powerpoint and also including research tools (internet and database use)
  • Organisation, record keeping and time management skills whilst maintaining a flexible, adaptable and proactive approach
  • Be willing to travel to fulfil job requirements
