About the role:

We are recruiting four Commissioning Manager positions to join the Partnering for Outcomes group. These are newly formed roles with each position having a dedicated focus on different population groups, these roles are:


Commissioning Manager – support for children and young people in care with complex needs

Commissioning Manager – short-term support for children and young people in care

Commissioning Manager – caregivers

Commissioning Manager – supporting young people from care to independent living


Each Commissioning Manager will focus on the population group within their remit, which may change over time. They will work across Oranga Tamariki, and with external partners, building an understanding of strategy, policy, population need, and the current state of support services. They will then work with partners and colleagues to develop effective commissioning plans that lead to improved support and outcomes for the population group.


Skills and experience:

We are looking for experienced managers with outstanding relationship management skills – this role is about bringing people, ideas, and intelligence together. You will be focused on building for the future and have experience of working in a large complex organisation. You will have an understanding and appreciation of cross cultural issues and concerns, in particular, knowledge of tikanga Maori, and Pacific peoples' culture.

You will be comfortable communicating complex ideas to a variety of audiences and build and maintain rapport, you will also have the ability to make sense of complex financial and non-financial data.
