Senior Test Analyst – Wellington

The Ministry of Social Development has one of the largest Information Technology Groups in the country. The IT Testing Services Team works in coordination with other IT departments and is primarily responsible for providing independent application and product testing.

We are seeking energetic, highly motivated, and an experienced Senior Test Analyst with good technical skills to join our team. You have the right attitude and this is your chance to utilise your well-demonstrated testing skills in a large and complex environment.

You will also need to:

  • Have previous knowledge of BPM (IBM's Business Process Manager) and ODM (IBM's Operational Decision Manager)
  • Have excellent knowledge of MSD application CMS and SWIFTT or equivalent payment system
  • 4-5 years of experience in testing, with good understanding of different testing processes/tools and the value of testing in the development lifecycle
  • Be technically savvy - you will be expected to use TOSCA, Selenium, SQL, SoapUI and XML
  • Experience in using CONFLUENCE, JIRA and SBE (Specifications by Example) techniques
  • Stepping up when needed for leadership tasks
  • Have a demonstrated ability to work with multi skilled teams across the programme of work
  • Have a demonstrated ability to work reliably, both individually and in team environments
  • High level analytical and problem solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to investigate complex issues and make informed decisions about them when written guidelines are not necessarily available
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be able to coach and mentor other team members
  • Experience in working with third-party vendor
  • Familiar with, and has worked in Agile projects and in DevOps delivery. Exposure to the Scaled Agile framework (SAFe would be a definite advantage).
