We are looking for a high performing, enthusiastic people leader to become a member of the wider Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast Leadership Team at the Ministry of Social Development.

This is a permanent Service Centre Manager role, Nelson/Tasman.  The current location is Richmond Work and Income Service Centre, however the successful applicant will be expected to manage either Nelson City or Motueka Service Centre on rotation when business needs require.

The role of the Service Centre Manager is to provide effective leadership and efficient management of services that contribute to individual, family and community independence.

You will be an innovative and inspirational leader within a busy service delivery environment.  Your focus will be embedding an outcomes-focussed culture, where transactions are done on-line or over the telephone, allowing case managers to support people towards independence and connect them with jobs.  You will empower and support your staff to provide a positive client experience.

Your leadership will ensure the service centre performs professionally, effectively and efficiently, and in a way that constructively ensures people get financial assistance when they need it, helps improve their readiness for work and supports them into employment.

You will be a proven change leader, at both a strategic and operational level.  You will be responsible for leading the successful implementation of both Regional and National initiatives that achieve successful and sustainable outcomes.

To be successful in this role the key attributes you will need are:
