Job Description

Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a Crown Entity established on 1 July 2017 under the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017. The role of our new organisation is to reduce unwanted fires, respond to structural and vegetation fires and other emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous substance related incidents, natural disasters and support increased community resilience.

Our new, unified organisation provides a fire and emergency service that delivers for communities, and the fire-fighters who serve them, now and in the future.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an additional Region Property Coordinator to join our busy team based out of Whangarei.

Reporting to the Regional Property Manager this position would cover from Wellsford to the top of the North Island. This role may also be required to work across the Auckland area from time to time to support the wider team.

You will be responsible for management of the maintenance of the Fire and Emergency New Zealand leased and owned properties within those areas. You will also be responsible for liaising with external providers and contractors to ensure the effective scheduling and oversight of planned, programmed and emergency maintenance of Fire and Emergency New Zealand sites.

Along with your above average computer literacy, excellent written and oral communication and your attention to detail, the ideal candidate will also have the following:

  • An extensive background from within the construction industry
  • A well-developed knowledge of building materials and legislation
  • Proven experience working the contractors and contractor management
  • Ability to work autonomously to meet the needs of your clients
  • Excellent engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain consistent standards with a nationally dispersed team

We will provide you with a unique opportunity to utilise your maintenance and contract management experience in a key emergency service environment, where your relationship management and technical skills will be highly valued. Some travel is required.
