Regional Labour Market Advisor, Auckland Region
Ministry of Social Development, Ellerslie base
Fixed term (or secondment) until mid April 2019

The Regional Labour Market Advisor is responsible for implementing national employment strategies at a local level and developing a response to Auckland region's labour market demand. The successful candidate will proactively build and manage relationships with employers, industry groups, providers and agencies within the region to achieve sustainable employment outcomes for clients. Utilising well informed labour market intelligence, you will shape agreements and solutions with industry and employers that will enable more clients to access labour market opportunities.

You will be responsible for providing full account management to employers, industry groups and labour market testing for Immigration purposes.  Using your knowledge of the products and services available you will be promoting the benefits of partnering with Service Delivery to employers and industry alliances.

The position requires proactive gathering of regional labour market and performance information to identify areas for improvement.  The labour market information will be used to direct your day to day activities and also contribute to developing longer term regional labour market strategies.  This role will have a strong link with our internal Employer Services team in regard to account management activities, national employment initiatives, labour market reporting and development of national strategies.

Some leadership experience would be advantageous along with a sensible, pragmatic approach to problem solving.

Due to the nature of the role, a full clean driver's licence without restrictions and a willingness to travel is required.  A qualification in business or other relevant qualification is highly desirable.
