Senior Analyst - Safe, Strong Families and Communities
1 x Fixed Term to 30 June 2021


We are seeking a Senior Analysts to join our Safe, Strong Families and Communities team.  This is a full time, fixed term position until the 30th June 2021.

 

About our Team

The Safe, Strong Families and Communities group sits within the Community, Partnerships and Programmes business unit at MSD. The current focus of the Safe, Strong Families and Communities group involves MSD's response to Family Violence, Sexual Violence, and Building Financial Capability across New Zealand.

About the Role

In the role of a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for developing and improving a range of social services for New Zealanders.


This is a fast paced position in an achievement focused workplace. We are looking for a broad set of skills within the role of Senior Analyst. These roles will provide research, insight and analysis at a national level cross our work programme. Functions within this role include:
 

  • leading projects and/or contributing to work on cross government priorities.
  • identifying and reporting on national trends and issues impacting on programmes and practice
  • providing high quality analysis, advice and reports for key internal and external stakeholders
  • promoting continuous improvement of services and processes

 

About your Skills and Experience

We are seeking positive individuals, with relevant policy experience in any of the following - social services, health, education, research and evaluation, and work with whānau, hapu and Iwi.


To be successful in this position you will need excellent writing skills and the ability to provide evidence-based and balanced analysis.  


You will need excellent relationship management skills and be able to demonstrate how you have contributed to making your working environments great places to work. You will also be able to demonstrate your ability to develop practical solutions for complex problems and will have led pieces of work from inception through to implementation with a focus on getting the job done. Experience in service development or budget processes is also a distinct advantage.


A significant part of your role will be building relationships with key government stakeholders and internal ministry staff. This means you are an effective communicator in addition to an excellent relationship manager with a collaborative work ethic and values that align to MSD's goals.


You have experience in working constructively with a range of stakeholders and can show how you have mentored colleagues and assisted skill and technical capability development.
