New Zealand (NZ) Police is seeking to appoint a Solutions Architect. This role will focus not only in the delivery of day to day Solution Design activities but also assist in the delivery of Strategic Architecture activities required to increase architectural maturity at NZ Police.

 

The Police Information and Communications Technology Service Centre (ICTSC) is here to save police officers time, enhance their safety and contribute to making New Zealand a safer community. Police needs information delivered to the front line that is reliable and able to be accessed anywhere, anytime. Making this happen is the daily work of our people in the ICT Service Centre.

 

As a key member within the ICTSC you will support the provision of ICT advice and services to the New Zealand Police covering business, information, applications and technology.

 

You will seek to drive solutions that make a tangible difference to Police and New Zealanders and will have an innovative pragmatic approach towards delivery and overcoming challenges. Your deep experience of architecture, business and ICT maturity evolution will stand out.

 

Specifically you will thrive on:

  • Exhibiting advanced stakeholder management by driving engagement across Police to deliver effective outcomes
  • Being a credible leader and expert advisor that will align the efforts of the Architecture group to assist in the delivery by: - Delivering effective Solution Architecture through impact assessments, options analysis, high level design and assurance activities which help inform our decision making processes; - Contributing to our Strategic Architecture functions through the development of component models, roadmaps, blueprints standards and roadmaps. 

 

The ICT Architecture practice encompasses Business, Technology, Information, Application and Solution Architecture. To be effective in this role you will drive and champion these areas causing your infectious enthusiasm to spread across the team.   You will have proven architecture experience and a structured approach to planning and delivery. You will be capable of effectively communicating with all levels including business stakeholders, architects, operational staff and vendors.

  • A track record in seeking out, articulating and delivering business improvements

 

Specific experience in the following areas:

  • IAMS solutions and integrations
  • Systems Integration (API / Batch) solutions and API gateways
  • Application development platforms (AWS, Azure, Pega)
  • Cloud Environments (AWS, Azure, as a Service (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS))
  • Containerisation and Micro-Services
  • Working within Agile and Dev-Sec-Ops teams
  • Experience with HRMIS / SAP solutions

 

Desirable but not essential:

  • Architecture modelling tools such as Sparx EA
  • Modelling frameworks such as UML, Archimate and BPMN
  • A relevant Architectural / business qualification, or equivalent experience
