  • Build, manage and motivate a newly created team
  • Lead MNZ's International Engagement Strategy
  • Influence and collaborate within MNZ, across government and internationally

Bring your significant leadership experience in an international policy environment to this exciting management role

We are recruiting senior managers to our newly established Regulatory Systems Design group.  If you have a passion for leading professionals working in a diverse and dynamic international, regulatory and response environment, then this position may be suitable for you.  This role requires significant experience in senior management and leadership, preferably in the public sector, and offers the opportunity to establish the team, their culture and direction.

The maritime sector is central to our economy. Maritime NZ is the national maritime safety, security and environment regulatory, compliance and response agency. Our work focusses on ensuring safe, secure and clean seas.  Maritime NZ is a great place to work, offering diversity and a rewarding career opportunity.  Our people are dedicated and driven to work towards our vision and our values.

The Manager International Engagement and Co-ordination will have the opportunity to establish and recruit a newly created team that is responsible for leading, advising and co-ordinating the Maritime NZ International Engagement Strategy.  The role is based in our Wellington office, and will involve international travel.

You will be responsible for leading the development of a whole of organisation international programme, providing strategic advice and direction in the international policy settings and design including their adoption into domestic frameworks and supporting the Deputy Director Regulatory Systems Design in leading cross government engagements on international maritime matters.

You will join a team of managers within the Regulatory Systems Design group who are tasked with providing clear and dynamic leadership for the group and contributing to Maritime New Zealand's leadership capabilities.

To be successful in this role you will have relevant tertiary qualifications, and proven experience and knowledge in diplomacy, international policy, international affairs and bilateral and multilateral negotiations.  Your significant management experience will be required to establish, manage and motivate your professional team.  Building and maintaining effective relationships, both within Maritime NZ and externally is a key part of this role.

Please review the position description and if you believe you have the skills and experience we are looking for, please apply online via the Maritime NZ  Careers Page.  You will be required to complete an application form and submit a covering letter and CV.

Applications close Monday 7 January 2019.
