Support Officer - 12 month fixed term or secondment

Avondale location.  National Fraud Intervention Services,  Ministry of Social Development

About the role


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an interest and some skill in general administration work.  The Support Officer is often the first point of contact for visitors to the unit.  If successful in this role you will be responsible for providing high quality administrative and clerical support to the Manager Fraud Intervention Services and wider team.   You will also be responsible for ensuring site premises and equipment is operational and maintained, for the ordering of site supplies and maintaining stock levels as well as general administration duties. 


As part of a busy and experienced team you will be working towards helping the team achieve the unit's targets and outcomes.   You will have the chance to put forward ideas for improving admin systems and procedures. This role is based in Avondale providing support services our Avondale and Otāhuhu sites.


To do well in this role we are looking for someone with;

  • intermediate Microsoft office computer skills, can navigate various programs, word processing
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • the ability to read and understand information with attention to detail
  • excellent people skills and a great team player
  • initiative and can work unaccompanied
  • a high level of spelling and grammar skills
  • good time management
  • NZ Citizenship or Permanent Residency at the time of application (this is a Level 4/5 ANZSCO role).
