Permanent opportunities – based in Willis Street (Kordia House)


International Services is a specialist unit within Housing and Income Support Services. International Services is responsible for the administration of New Zealand's Social Security Agreements and Portability/Special portability arrangements.  We provide policy advice and benefit assistance for people wishing to reside overseas, those already living overseas and those moving to New Zealand from an overseas country.


Purpose of the Position:

Administer the process for clients in receipt of a benefit or pension who have lived and/or worked overseas to test their eligibility for overseas payments, in accordance with New Zealand's legislation, social security agreements and other arrangements, ensuring an equitable financial support system for all New Zealanders. 

To deliver quality service to our clients so that they have a positive experience every time they engage with MSD.   

We are looking for people who have excellent client service skills, can problem solve complex client situations, have good time management, and a high level of both written and verbal communication skills.  We want you to be target oriented, have initiative; self manage, work well under pressure and meet timeframes.  Most importantly you will need to adapt and accept change as a positive challenge, while working well in a team environment. 

The starting salary for this role is from $43,299, dependent on skills and experience.

This is an ANZSCO level 4/5 role.  To be considered, candidates must hold NZ or Australian citizenship or NZ permanent residency at the time of application.
