Business Analyst

 

Ministry's Technology and Business Executives are driving a key transformation initiative to deliver products and services for the future; aligning them with Digital and DevOps process.

 

The Availability and Resilience programme being delivered will move the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) to an “always on” operating model: 

 

  • Availability ensures online channels remain available even when backend systems have an outage. 
  • Resilience reduces MSD's risk profile enabling rapid and dependable recovery if a disaster strikes.

 

The availability solution makes extensive use of IaaS.  Availability also introduces MSD with a new data sharing capability via API Connect and online data cache and MDM capability via IBM product Connect 360.

 

Next goal post availability solution getting delivered is to effectively transition multiple in-flight delivery teams into an agile Digital Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) model.

 

This role will assist in the analysis, design and development of future business requirements by looking at the data involved in the end-to-end business processes impacted by new requirements or changes. The Data Analyst will gain and act as the data expert for the team.           

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

  • Contribute to the development of new Availability features (service contracts)
  • Contribute to the maintenance of existing Availability features (service contracts)
  • Extracting, transforming and loading Data from source systems into IBM Connect 360 data store
  • Assist in the provision of ad hoc queries using Oracle SQL
  • Assist in the troubleshooting and fixing of defects/bugs
  • Enable SDLC using SAFe framework in alignment of Agile and DevOps principles

 

Skills and Experience:

 

  • Proven experience as a Data/Business Process Analyst or similar roles
  • Proficient in Data modelling and architecture
  • Proficient in Oracle SQL
  • Knowledgeable on Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading
  • Familiar with Specialised Data Handling
  • Knowledgeable on Data Capacity Planning
  • Ability to troubleshoot/investigate by looking at the data involved
  • Team player with a Can-Do attitude
  • Experience working in NZ Government agencies is an advantage.
  • Experience in agile projects is an advantage
