Job Description

Achieving the sustainable development of the historic environment is a global objective. You can make a difference in New Zealand for the conservation and protection of historic heritage in planning work under the Resource Management Act 1991 and Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Act 2014. Your everyday business will involve working with our multi-disciplinary heritage team and councils, property owners and developers, infra structure agencies, iwi and local communities involved with a diverse range of heritage places. 

 

RMA Planner for Northland

 

Part-time 28 hours per week

 

Heritage New Zealand is New Zealand's primary agency for cultural heritage protection and heritage advice. There is a vacancy for an experienced Planner based in our Kerikeri Office (Auckland based would also be considered).  The role primarily covers the Northland Area including the Far North, Kaipara and Whangarei District Councils and the Northland Regional Council. Some travel within these areas will be involved.

This position provides a real opportunity to make a highly significant contribution as part of Heritage New Zealand's Northland team in advocating for the protection and conservation of New Zealand's important historic places.

There is a variety of planning work including assessments of and submissions on resource consent and District plans and policies as well as the opportunity to work with and learn from passionate heritage professionals.

A post graduate qualification in RMA Planning, as well as a minimum of 3-5 years' experience is essential.

The salary range for the positions is $73,000 - $77,000 full-time equivalent
