Director Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO)

We are seeking a strategic and effective leader with significant experience managing an EPMO.


About the Role


Reporting directly to the DCE, People Culture & Strategy, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the Ministry's project, programme and portfolio framework.  You will engage at a strategic level with the Leadership Team, Governance Committees and other senior leaders to ensure the portfolio supports and is aligned to the Ministry's strategic direction.


You will champion the EPMO as a Centre of Excellence for the use of the Ministry's best practice programme & project management methodologies, processes, and tools. 


Skills and Experience 


Our ideal candidate will offer: 


  • extensive experience in a senior EPMO role or similar related programme/project or consulting role
  • experienced people leader with a proven record of effectively managing teams in a complex and demanding environment 
  • strong influencing and relationship management skills and be able to quickly establish credibility and trust
  • excellent writing skills, with the ability to provide concise, well-constructed written reporting
  • experience in working with a scaled agile framework
  • project management qualification such as Prince 2, MSP, PMI.
